Photographs of Distinction, Michael OByrne

Congratulations to Co. Carlow couple Sharon Smyth, The Ridge, Old Leighlin and David Ruddock, Ballytarsna, Nurney who got married in the Cathedral at Old Leighlin. This location is steeped on history going back to a synod held in 630 AD. when St. Laserian was influential in deciding the timing of Easter and continues to this day...... the first Sunday after the full moon which follows the vernal equinox. Hard to credit that after all the bad weather we have had that during the service no one felt the need to close either the West door or South door of the Cathedral as it was a warm afternoon. Many thanks to Rev. Stan Evans for his help to this photographer. After the group photograph we headed down to the garden by the river Barrow in Leighlinbridge and then off to Ballytarsna which is near Nurney for the family photographs. This place has a stunning view over to Mount Leinster and towards the Wicklow mountains but this day due to the heat haze the view was not the best but no one was complaining.

For the reception we headed to Ramada Hotel Killerig, a location for relaxation. Many thanks to all including Sharon's bridal party, Linda, Marian and Sonya and the boys Roy, Brendan and Wesley not forgetting Cloe and Ciaran the flower girl and page boy. We wish Sharon and David all the best in the future years, it was a pleasure to be part of the celebrations.

Click here and do add a message or greeting on my guestbook.Sharon and David would love to read your greetings and messages when they are not relaxing in a country and an area best known for sun but can also get a bit windy and when the wind blows there we hear about it here.
