The German city of Cologne. Unlike Rome or Paris, it's not exactly known as a romantic destination. Despite this, love locks are currently all the rage, with hundreds of them clinging to the busy Hohenzollern bridge over the Rhine. The locks began appearing on the pedestrian footpath across the bridge a few years ago. One of them belongs to Marion and Martin. Young lovers now flock to the bridge today to immortalize their love with an engraved padlock, throwing the key into the swirling waters below. A threat recently by the German railway company, Deutsche Bahn. it's responsible for the bridge, and not long ago, the company threatened to have the locks sawn off. That prompted such an outcry, though, that the company was forced to undergo -- what else -- a change of heart.

Above and below are some photographs of both the exterior and interior of Cologne Cathedral, which is a world heritage site and is an impressive building that took almost 500 years to build. Height is in excess of 150 meters and it is possible to climb up but for the nervous stay down in the courtyard, it is a bit scary at times but the view from the top is a panoramic view of the city and the River Rhine with the barges heading north and south. Take my advice and visit it sometime, you will be rewarded with some sites in the old town and in the newer part of the city and for the ladies shopping in abundance. For the fellow there is always Saturn, which has the largest CD collection under one roof and electrical gadgets to marvel at.
