On a really cold February day in fact 10th. Feb. 2006, the Scarteen hounds came from Tipperary to join up with the Kilkenny Hunt at Mount Juliet. The legendary Scarteen Black and Tanswith their distinctive colour, voice and hunting country sets them apart from any other pack. Owned by the Ryan family, written records date back to 1640 with Chris Ryan the ninth recorded generation of his family to hunt these hounds.

Now I do not hunt but I did enjoy the day taking photographs and do feel that the anti hunt people do fail to come to grips with this country sport...what next stop fishing!!! I hope you have enjoyed some of these photographs
