Photographs of Distinction, Michael OByrne

You know during life you may meet someone who leaves a lasting impression in your mind. Well for me and many more,Fr. Paul Fitzgerald who was Parish Priest in Thomastown for the past 20 years was just such a person and one that we will not forget as long as we live and all for the right reasons. He was in my opinion besides his vocation a gentleman, one that it was a pleasure to have a chat with and share our thoughts about various topics. An indication of the respect and the sense of loss in the parish was the large gathering at his funeral on New Years Day. He had done so much over the years for the area and was a true friend and will be missed. Fr. Peter Muldowney with some of the pupils of the local schools assistd by Seamus Quigley planted a tree in his memory.
