Photographs of Distinction, Michael O’Byrne

Took a recent trip to Cornwall area of England. No doubt about it a beautiful area but I was accosted by some downmarket ladies as I had a meal one evening in Newquay. Scrubbers out on the town doing more than dusting as far as I could see. Visited Boscastle a sleepy village and harbour but on Aug. 16th. 2004 it was subjected to a massive flood, about 14 feet of water came through the village after a thunderstorm in the area. Went along the coastal path and its a joy to walk it and see the sights along the way. Sadly now and then ones attention is brought to a plaque or memorial to those who have decided to depart this life without saying goodbye to their loved ones. As anyone in the know is aware Newquay is renowned for its surfing and it was a delight to meet Brendan Smith (UK under 18 surfing champion) pictured below. Word is out to watch out for him in the up coming world champion trials in Fiji. Did have a swim there but the waves can really knock you over and swimming is difficult.
